52 Weeks of Color Challenge: Khaki

Whew just before Luna posts another I'm zipping in with my Khaki entry for the 52 Weeks of Color Challenge! If you want to know more about this challenge click here HERE!

It also give me a chance to do a two for one post while I am catching up! Check out this great mesh release from Raspberry Aristocrat! The tank & skirt here are both named "Sweet" and they really are! They both also come in 8 really great colors; bright, cheerful, and fun! I'm wearing ecru here because it looks Khaki to me! You should zip on over to her store and check out the others though! Can't wait to see the next mesh release from Raspberry Aristocrat!

Also check out these fun new mesh boots from Slink named Astrid. These are extremely well done and I adore them! Best part is that the straps and the base of these boots can be color changed into 16 colors... and when you start to combine those colors.. that's a lot of boots for the price of one!

Quick note about my bag here called "Vintage Voyager Bag in Brown"... it's from Purple Moon I picked it up on sale the other day and couldn't resist showing it off!

Shimmy into this new dress from Icing!

*ICING* has released a new dress today called Shimmy and of course it does make you want to do the shimmy! It comes in no less then seven colors and even better it's part of lazy Sunday! That's right for today only you can get this dress for only 60L. Hurry now before the price goes up tomorrow!

I love the sleeves on this so well done! This a great basic dress that should be hanging in everyone's closet! At this price.... how can you go wrong?

Thoughts about Truth (Hair that is)

Mister Truth has released 3 new styles that all have the same name, so meet Agnes 1, 2, and 3! These are all very full styles with braids and bangs that are different. I think it's great that he chose to do that this week because it gives me a chance to make a point that I've been trying to make off and on in assorted Plurks for awhile now. People have been complaining in various blogs and plurks that his hair often seems to look the same, or is similar to other styles he has released.

Take a good look at my face in these pictures... notice how the shape seems to change with the styles. I didn't move my camera... I didn't even alter the hair... yet my face seem to change with each one of these. It's the sort of difference that makes a hair cut good or bad in our off second life lives. Some times these subtle changes make me prefer one style over an other because it fits how I perceive myself better. So what many of you see as a negative can be a good thing to another person.

Which one will YOU prefer? I myself rather like Agnes 3! ;)

Rose's Picks at the Jewelry Fair Post Five

Today I plan on showing you my picks from the over the top, the unique, and the fantasy type items that I got at the fair this year.

First up is the over the top! Here we have two of the items from Ganked! I noticed that the whole booth was filled with bold jewelry statements, pieces that will get you noticed for sure! This isn't your usual chunky jewelry though, there is some real artistic design behind them.

Check out this fabulous set from Violator! Such wow factors from this store... real couture eye popping designs. Their booth is a real must see for anyone who has not come across them before! This set has me wanting to create some real fashionista art!

Up next we have some of the unique items! Check out this wonderful hat from CentoPallini! I just HAD to have it! Yes I bought a hat at the Jewelry Fair what can I say? I tossed in these darling earrings that I got from them too just to show them off!

Next up is Hatpins... a store that I have seen about on the web and I keep meaning to go there... well this has convinced me to do it soon! The glasses are great, as my regular readers will know I'm going to need more of these! I love the delicate detailing in the fascinator as well! Speaking of delicate check out these earrings another set I added just because I could!

Up next we have the fantasy type items.. starting with this jaw dropping set called Sleeping Beauty from Sian Birke Jewelry! There are several other pieces to this set not shown here but look at the fantastic detailing here! Great craftsmanship worthy of any princess!

Last but not least we have this lovely Sea Circlet from Nesti Sule! Isn't it charming! A must have for any water nymph!

Rose's Picks at the Jewelry Fair Post Four

There was so much good casual jewelry at the fair this year! I have selected one each of several designers who caught my eye this round. So here we go frooooom left to right the order chosen by how well I could paste these together! :D

How adorable is this set from je suis? It's called Nocturne and comes with a ring as well! Very well crafted and charming! Fell in love with this as soon as I saw it!

Here we have a delicate and finely crafted Chinese symbol of love from Lucifer's Heart they had several other symbols and much much more!

I know it might be hard to see but I adore these earrings from Real Glamour so much work had to go into these! So much fun!

This set called Love Notes from Plastic Acid caught my attention too! Fun .. flirty... and just a bit rock and roll!

First up on the bottom row is a necklace I purchased from a Plurkie pal who is behind LacieCakes! In case you can't read what it says... My eyes are up here... *grins*. She always makes such fun and creative things!

Ok ok I know they don't go together but I wanted to show you these two items I bought from AlaskaMetro... these are super cheap, stylish, and fun! Alaska Metro have been around for ages and for good reason!

Starting to think I should have re done this picture... I hope you can see the sweet details behind Ripe's Tweetle Dee set! I also recommend checking out their In Ca'Hoots set as well!

Last but not least we have the Over the Rainbow set from Dear Alice that I've shown you before but I wanted to give you another look!

Sorry to have been quiet a few days while I dealt with some stuff in my offline life... but the show must go on yes? Yes!

Today I'm bring to you some new to me designers from the Jewelry Fair who excelled at dressy sets of pretties for us all!

I'm really glad that I discovered Purple Moon not only are they creative but they were affordable! The sets I saw there had flair & style and really caught my attention! Shown here are the Lily set in gold and white, and the Noble Choker in Silver. They both came in many colors and styles it was hard to chose just one!

WTG was another Designer who definitely caught my attention! I had a hard time deciding what to buy and finally settled on the J:D-02 choker which I thought was just so lovely. I'm also showing you the fab Fragrance-G set that she gave me. The best part of this set is that both the gems and metals can be changed to suit you!

I want to mention a couple others.... this Kimmera Collection (I'm not showing all the pieces there are more!) from J&W Jewelers is amazing to look at! Such intricate detailing! I need to make time to stop by their main store sometime soon!

Last but not least I wanted to show you this Leah set from je suis. The only store I'm showing today that I had heard of before was je suis but some how I had never made it to their shop. Isn't this set lovely? I have more from them to show you when I do the casual jewelry post! Stay tuned!

Another long time favorite jeweler of mine is Caroline's! Caroline Apollo's work is always well crafted and spans the spectrum of jewelry as she builds whatever it is she wants to be wearing. Her newest creations at the Jewelry Fair this year a have a decidedly casual feel, and statement rings abound!

My Favorites? The Vintage Photo Locket (seen upper left side) Which opens and closes and you can add your own picture, and the delicate and intricate detailing on her beautiful Multi Gems Flower Statement Ring.

Week 46 of the 52 Weeks of Color Challenge and it's another red color! Yikes! As many of you know I don't really do red colors and don't have all that many in my inventory. The Amazing Jewelry Fair!

Silly Rose is Over Dressed for the Fair!

I was unlucky and came down with a cold on Thursday and I'm just now really getting myself back up and into the swing of things. With the promptings of some others I've decided to go ahead with what I had planned for my post even if it is several days late!

The 2011 Jewelry Fair covering four sims is up and going! Each sim has it's own elemental theme to it and are amazing must see builds even if shopping for jewels is not your thing! The fair which opened on the 16th runs through to the 25th so you have plenty of time to get there and look around! I'll make things easy for you and give you ports to each of them!

I had a great time checking everything out and I discovered several stores that I hadn't seen before! I really fell in love with a few of them... in fact I was shopping at one just this morning! I shall be doing a ton of posts so stay tuned!

Don't forget to mind your manners at the fair! Lets do a quick review... no need to wear uber primmy clothes, jewels, hair ect. As you can see I did not follow that rule above... it's a not what to wear for the fair! Don't worry I promise I took the picture with only 2 other people in the sim. Try to leave your scripted items at home even though no one likes going without them! If you want more hints for lowering lag check out this post I did here...

Lets talk about some DOs for this fair! DO stop by and bid on the charity auctions, DO make a special effort to find the items that have part of the proceeds going to that same charity. DO check out every shop and not just names you know... who knows where greatness is lurking? DO make new friends out there... I've met great people while wandering around fairs! Most importantly DO have fun!

Not-a-Meme! The restart of an old blog challange...

Years ago my friend Dolmere started the Not-a-Meme blog challenge... and I'd like to start it back up again with your help!

The Not-a-Meme blog challenge has a simple premise and will be able to cut across the lines that tend to divide us Second Life bloggers ... because it can cover anything under the sun... silly or serious!

Once a week someone who is part of this (meaning anyone who joins in and has fun with us!) will be picked by me to ask a question... or submit an idea.

Examples: When I was picked before I asked if manners were important to you in Second Life. (I went and found the actual link yay check it out HERE) Another time someone else said we should do something nice for someone and then talk about it. There were all sorts of questions and it went on for months.

Everyone who wants to join the fun then replies and posts the link... not to my blog but to the person who's turn it was that week. Anyone who has a blog is welcome to join in... you don't have to do every single week. Have fun and enjoy!

I'm going to hunt for a volunteer to start us off and if none show up... I'll post a question myself!

These are both a sort of two for one deal as you get one version with the color change ribbons and one with out. The style on top is Annalise and the other is Abigail. What I particularly like with these hairdos is how the hair falls... seems so realistic to me! The back of Annalise could be my own hair from the looks of it! Fun and quirky styles both of them!

Easy Sunday Morning Post

Just a fun quick post this Sunday Morning... yesterday while wandering the feeds I saw this dress as part of one weekend sale or another and it caught my attention! So of course I went and bought it! This is a pre-release from Aura called Inked Mini seen here in Electric Blue; there were several other color combos to choose from although to be honest I can't remember the number. I'm thinking eight or ten but don't quote me on it!

I decided to pair it up with some fab new mesh boots from TenFifteen! These are called Kimberly and they come in eight colors... in 4 sizes each! Pretty sure that MOST people can be fitted into at least one of those sizes. You know me I love good boots... make sure you go give them a whirl.

Another thing I need to point out is my fun jewelry from Dear Alice called Over the Rainbow! This set had the whole fun an fancy free feel I was going for so I had to use it. You can't see them but there are matching earrings as well. However this a Jewelry Fair preview so you will just have to wait to go get it!

Last but not least is this fun Hallway prop from Glitterati she's revamped her old sci-fi one and made one that has more poses and is in a shabby chic style! That being said I used one of her headshot 2 poses with it... just for a change up!

Quickie post here to show off SOME of the stuff I bought today at Collabor88! A bunch of designers we adore get together and once a month set some great stuff out for only 88L! If you would like a ride click HERE!

The Mod dress and tights are called Sedgwick and come from Ingenue this is the cyan shading however there are three others for you to check out! Ingenue also shaded her Bridget flats to match! Lots of fun and very cute!

I love this hair from Clawtooth called Mystery, the wisps are adorable! You not only get one shade for 88L you get the entire pack! I'm wearing the shade called Red eye flight... the name alone amused me!

You can't see it well but I have a lovely bangle on by EarthStones. If you head to sale be sure to give them a closer look! Also the Furnature is from LISP! Both the Valentine sofa and chair are on sale there... in two types of color packs! A matching footstool was on sale for fifty lindens Friday... did you get yours? While you can still buy the rose in a cup... the table and candlesticks were for the spring seasons hunt.

There are many other things on sale... and I bought more then I've shown you... go there and check it yourself! Did I mention my pose was from there too? This one from a set of 6 from Marukin called dandelion girl!

What?!? You think looking this good is cheap?

What?!? You think looking this good is cheap? How does a girl like me get into a situation like this? Being a slave to fashion will do it to you!

Actually this is my first foray into mesh fashion.... mesh Is AWESOME! It moves you with your body... it's all that I dreamed flexy prims would be years ago and it's finally here! I have seen pictures of someone kneeling in a long dress and it actually bends! These boots I have on do the same thing! I do believe I'm gonna love me some mesh prims!

So lets talk fashion! This is the new meshylicious (Is that a word? Is it now?) dress is from TenFifteen is called Natalia and comes in nine colors! The creative forces behind TenFifteen have been leading the way in Second Life for years... no seriously they have and I've been around to watch them do it. This is a bit more sexy then I am used to but hey a girl has to show off some times! You should try dancing in this dress trust me!

These fab fab boots come from Lassitude & Ennui another wonderful creator who has been leading the way for years now! These are her Mesh Overknee boots and they come in embossed as seen here and snakeskin... with several colors of each! I can't wait to see what else she comes up with!

Word of warning for those of you new to mesh. You can't edit it around your shape... you will need to adjust your shape to fit the mesh. A few tricks that will help are finding creators who offer different sizes and judicial use of alpha layers. Do what you must the result is worth it! If the mesh viewer you tried isn't working for you ... give another a whirl. It's safe to say that mesh is here to stay.

A non meshy mention here.... This fun prop scene is a preview of a soon to be released set from Glitterati. If you aren't in her VIP group you should seriously consider it. She is so generous to us each month... yes it is pricey but hello so worth it!

Getting Back to Normal with Truth Hair

I Come To You Wearing Glasses

Yes I know I've been gone about 2 months and this post is in hopes of explaining a bit what has been going on the life of Rose.

Long story in the short version? I am now wearing glasses. Yes there you go... doesn't explain much does it... if you care to find out what has been going on feel free to read on. For those scrolling by on the feeds I'm going to attempt my first page break ever!

Hopefully I have done that correctly! Now for the long version, which I haven't been talking about in my blog... mostly to my close friends and some on Plurk.

Spring of last year I started noticing that my vision wasn't what it used to be, at first I blamed being tired... then I though maybe it was my allergies. Eventually I asked my mom about who FREAKED and I wound up at my Uncle's (he's an Ophthalmologist ) office in just a couple hours. I spent the next few days getting passed around to various Doctors and shortly before I turned 36 I was diagnosed with cataracts. I know! I know! Sounds so weird doesn't it?

The current theory of why this happened to me at such a young age leads back the H1N1 virus .. yes the dreaded swine flu. It in fact came very close to killing me... I didn't make a huge deal of it here in SL because many of us knew someone in SL who had died and it made my lot seem easy.... I at least was alive. What saved my life was a HUGE dose of steroids... it's thought that is what kicked the cataracts into gear.

I put off my surgeries... to be honest I was a coward... the mere idea of being awake during surgery made me want to crawl out of my skin... it still does really. I put them off a bit to long and I spent the last few months legally blind at 350/20.   I was doing my blogging with my nose two inches from the screen!

Along with the surgeries came some illnesses in my family, my two middle kids wound up with inhalers, my youngest had a birthday, I had first one surgery followed by another, some time with no internet due to costs of every thing, and some minor complications that are gone now with my second eye, and the joys of getting everyone registered for school! yay!

Now for the good news... my distance viewing is once again 20/20! I see great until something is three and a half feet or closer. So now I wear reading glasses when I need to see things up close ... like when I'm sitting here at my computer. It's a big change for me because I never had to wear them before! I will say it's nice to see faces again, especially those of my children.

I don't think I want to try and catch up with things all the things I left unblogged from the hair fair on. I once again need to wipe the slate clean for my own sanity. I'm so so sorry for those who trusted me with items... I hope to make it up to you in the months ahead.

Evie's Closet Tuala as seen by Rose

The work and craftsmanship from Evie's Closet is so very well known that I really don't need to tell you about it. So in a change of pace I thought I would mostly share the story of her recently released Tuala gowns mostly in pictures for a change. I really loved taking pictures of these amazingly lovely gowns.

Tuala comes in six sets of colors the one above is called Tryst the one below is Peridot. The Tiaras and Collars are sold separately and there are six made to match each of the shades of Tuala available.

Here is a nice close up so that you can see all the detail work that went into making the Tuala crowns and collars. Amazing aren't they? I would also like to mention the props that I used in this post... I don't usually combine my prop/pose makers in a post but today it had to be done. Studio Sidhe made this amazing Moon Goddess prop and Glitterati is behind the fantastic Princess Carriage and the pose I used with it!

Hair Fair 2011 Post 1: I remember when...

I've been in Second Life for a good while now as many of you know and today I am going to share some memories with you and show you two designers who are in the fair this year that fit that theme!

I remember the very first hair fair... it was Friday April 14th 2006 .. I know this because I still have a few things from that fair that I can't bear to toss out for one reason or another. The fair was just in PART of one sim! I got right in, though it was laggy some we all just laughed about it and had fun, no yelling at each other, we all had a great time. I remember meeting Zyrra Falcone and HoseQueen McLean and having such a fan girl moment.... through the years that followed I found out they were such fun and down to earth girls. I'd tease Zyrra about making something new but last time I did she pretty much said hey I've released new stuff more recently then you! There were freebies all over... good awesome freebies I went back again and again as they kept changing or were added to. Those were the days :D

On to the present! Here are 3 adorable releases from Raspberry Aristocrat named Khloe, Jess, and Jane! Here is my I remember when moment... I remember when Raspberry Aristocrat was new and just starting out, I met her setting up shop on the Bill sim ages ago. I was impressed with her talents at the time... you could tell that it was there and just waiting to grow and boy has it ever! Such great fun and flirty styles this year! Jess in the middle is free BTW but be sure to check out all of the styles!

Up next we have 3 of the releases from Sparkle Skye named Briana (Whose flowers detach btw), Moira, and Vanessa. You know me I'm such a sucker for lovely up-do and these formal, enchanting styles are so very lovely! Be sure to stop by her booth at the hair fair and check all the styles out! My remember when story for her? I remember when she only had 3 hair styles and I bought an outfit that I wore for ages from her back when I was a newbie! So thrilled to see her out there designing!

52 Weeks of Color Challenge: Denim

Yay for a fast and easy post! Thought it was time I tossed in another one of the color challenge posts to both catch me up and keep it interesting! If you want to learn more about the 52 Weeks of Color Challenge click HERE! This time around we have Denim ... which could be viewed in several ways don't you think? Right around the time that this color challenge came out which was oh like a month ago =P Lex Morgan released an outfit at Stellar named Caroline Jeans & Bandana top. Now in my humble opinion denim and bandana go together ... well like hot summer days and water! I'm wearing pink but it comes in a pack that has both red and black as well.

The 2011 Hair Fair is about to open!

Bad Rose Bad!

The 2011 Hair Fair is about to open and in this picture I am doing everything wrong! Lets make a list of what is wrong in this picture of Rose at the Hair Fair shall we?

1) First off even though we are at the Hair Fair doesn't mean we need hair! Yes it's true we need to remove the prims! That means hair, shoes, purses, backpacks, silly toys like shopping bags, silly toys that have nothing to do with shopping (I know you know what I mean!), no clothing with prims, not even eyelashes!

Now I do realize that prims do not cause server side lag but they cause client side lag because every one will have to rez each prim and texture you have on including yourself!

2) Wear the clothes that the Hair Fair has provided! "Why?" you may ask... well it's for the same issues that we have with the prims! Each piece of clothing has to be read and rezzed. If everyone is wearing the same thing... well problem solved!

3) No scripts needed either! These will cause issues sim server side and we don't want that now do we? This means no AOs, no Mysti tools, no scripted anything.... and yes this includes those toys we were talking about earlier.

On the other hand there is something I am doing RIGHT, I'm in front of the bandana store where every item gives 100% to the wonderful cause "Wigs for kids".

Here are a few more tips from an old pro if you are still lagging....
Turn your draw distance way down.. really there is no need to see the other side of the sim if you are lagging!
Turn off all the graphics that make Second Life pretty ... shadows and atmospheric shaders ect.
Limit the amount of AVs you can rez around you at a time... it's in the debug menu.
If all else fails derez people :X

Remember to play nice out there... try on your demos at home! Follow the guidelines to help not only you but everyone else around you. Hey if I am willing to be bald and walk like I have a stick shoved up me ... you can too!

Mega Truth Release!

To coincide with his new Truth District sim opening we also had a MEGA release from Truth ! If you add in the new freebie there are six different new styles out there! Win for us all!

First up we have another wonderful up-do called Pandora... I really do enjoy the beautiful up sweeps we have been seeing from Truth lately. Earthstones has created several sets of lovely jeweled clips to go with this but sadly I can't afford them right now. They are for sale right next to each other though so be sure to check them out!

Second is a fun wavy long hair do named Summer. The name matches the do! Sweet and simple it comes with a color change headband.

Here we have Jean a fun rather avant garde sort of style don't you think? All smooth on top and extra large curl on the bottom. Reminds me of a project runway episode I saw once!

Now for the style that is being GIVEN AWAY to celebrate the opening of Truth District! Beck is a sleek ponytail held back with a small headband that of course changes colors. Did I mention it is free? Yes it is! Click the link above for a ride... this style is out till the 5th of July so no rush but don't miss it!

These last two styles are called Darcey 1 and 2 and are rather fun smooth to flippy hair styles. I love how these fall across and down the shoulders. I don't think I've ever seen a bigger Truth release and I'm thrilled! Thanks for all you do for us!

Truth District Opens!

This morning Mister Truth opened up a new sim called the Truth District and the new Truth Shopping Village is to be found there. The quaint victorianish village is filled to the brim with some fabulous stores that we call know and love... and if we don't then we should! Want a ride? Click HERE!

Minuet beside the ocean

Earlier this month at Disco Deals I lucked out and got this amazing dress from Icing called Minuet which struck a chord with me (only a little pun intended there) as I knew that was a lovely dance from centuries ago. I say lucky because the price was amazing! However if you missed this dress then do not despair it's available at her main shop HERE. This beautiful frock comes in four other colors besides Aqua that you see here... and they come with both a sculpted and flexy skirt! Zip on down and pick one up!

To round off the look I added the classic Steeplechase Pearls Set in Silver from Dark Mouse and to match the bows on the dress the Ingenue Nina flats in Seamist which you know I love and were perfect!

52 Weeks of Color Challenge: Ruby

As I started this color challenge for Ruby I found myself humming a very old Kenny Rogers song... a rather haunting story where if you have true compassion you actually feel sorry for both sides of the story. If you would like more info on the 52 weeks of color challenge click here.

I know I'm behind but I'm catching up... I am very proud however as this is my first ever truly shadowed picture! I also thought since I was going with a song theme I'd change the color of my hair which gave me a chance to enjoy this lovely group gift that Lamb sent out a bit ago. Being blond lets me have red lips which usually looks horrid with my hair!

Hair Fair Demo Group is Open!

The Hair Fair is coming! Did you know? Had you heard? With the Hair Fair comes the chance to join the demo group! "Why should you?" I hear you asking yourself. Well lets look at the facts shall we?

1. The demo group gets a sneak peek at many of the styles that will be available... a full day before the fair starts!

2. It will help cut down on the all the trips that will have to be made back and forth and back and forth while you go home to try on demos.... because you know trying on demos AT the fair is just RUDE YO!

3. It's free... it's easy ... it's smart... and why not? If nothing else do it because Rose said so! Sure put the blame on me I wont mind! ;)

Catching up on Truth Hair!

My bid to catch up this week continues as I show off some of the recent releases from Mister Truth Hawks! So lets start with the release from back on the 17th. Here we have Danni and June. Danni is just a sweet charming pony tail style with color changing bands and June is a long sleek and straight style that comes with 2 sets of bangs! Both of these are timeless and classic must haves for any hair closet.

Next Truth release we have is Astrid and Fiona! Astrid just makes me smile how can it not?   This loopy ponytail look also comes with color changing bands, it reminds me of a style I wore for ages back in 2005 in SL but oh so much better! :D Fiona is a fluffy and wavy long style that is held back by a simple clip (that color changes as well). I really love how it frames my face!

L. Fauna's Lea Skins

I know I know I've been gone a bit yet again... I've been insanely crazy busy this summer. I'd say that I hope to catch up this week with the kids gone but we shall see because I've said that before!

I am sadly way behind on getting this post done but I really wanted to share with you my thoughts on this new release by L. Fauna. The Lea Skins are really well done but mostly I really enjoyed some of the innovative ideas that came from it.

First off this skin comes in 3 light colors, 3 tan colors, and 3 dark colors... what I found so very interesting was that the 3 sets weren't just slightly different tones from each other but very different shades with unique base colors. I should have taken more pictures really but I love how many choices there were.

Each of these skin tones includes 4 breast options with various cup sizes and cleavage so that you can further customize your look something that was a first for me anyhow. I've shown the full variety of them in my shots to give you a general idea.

She also brought back the do it yourself eyebrow colors something I've really missed. Launa Fauna gives you a card with several presets in great shades but I've always had more luck mixing my own when it comes to red browns so if you want the numbers I used just whistle.

Lea has a sweet youthful look and the make ups are very well done... tried to show a good variety on these as well. Let me tell you something though... the freckles are fabulous! Well done Launa!

52 Weeks of Color Challenge: Neon Carrot

For this challenge I knew just what to put on! Such a bright in your face carrot color! This is Disco Star (in Orange of course) from the wonderful June Dion of Bare Rose fame. L'Abel's Country Chic Collection

L'Abel recently released their summer collection called Country Chic ... ok it was over two weeks ago! I'm still playing catch up! Today I want to take a moment and show you my favorites released in this group by Neferia Abel.

On the left we have Enna shown here in white.. it also comes in lavender and a lovely cream shade as well. Shown here in the dress option, I tried to let you have a little peep at the darling prim pantaloons under it! The details on this are so well done... making anything this detailed in white is so very difficult that I give Nef mad props for doing such a great job!

On top we have the Tinde cardigan in tan, it also comes in pink and baby blue. Great prim work here makes the ruffles so much fun! Love the work that went into this lace and it's great to toss over almost any type of outfit. Simple, easy, and fun.

On the bottom I'm showing you the Lottie top in grey which is one of those tops that I think you need to see on to really appreciate. I did my best to capture the spirit of it though cool, confident and breezy in other words just right for summer time.

Last but not least we have my personal favorite the Summer Pantsuit shown in the top picture in seagreen, and in the main picture in plum, it also comes in brown. Impeccably done like everything else... just look at those seams! Looked a bit retro and a bit modern at the same time! Yay for another easy to wear go to outfit in my closet.

I have to do a quick shout out about my accessories today... All of my poses were from STaTUS's new releases called Cady and Lourdes check them out!

First up we have some fantastic strappy pumps from Slink called Lulu Stilettos in Beige one of many different colors! I confess I have avoided shoes with the prim feet in them... I know silly yes? I have had such a hard time matching them. I think I did pretty well this time don't you? I'm so glad too because I love love these!

My necklace is a new release from Dark Mouse called Belle Epoque Collar Necklace. I'm wearing copper but it also comes in silver and gold like most of Mouse's sets. It's a lovely flowered motif with a Victorian feel to it. I'm sure you will see it on me a great deal!

Last but not least is this adorable bag from Undefined Lilies called Treasure Meets Hoot which comes in several main bag colors... I happened to choose 4. The great part is every other part of this bag either changes colors or changes patterns! What is not to love? Seriously it's great fun and cute to boot! There is even a setting to let anyone at all change your bag for you! What's not to love?

Coffee Break the June Edition!

The Gals of LoLo are at it again ... every other month they hold an event there called Coffee Break! Items in the cafe this month range from 35L-100L & it goes from the 1st-15th of the month which means you only have a couple days left... mere hours really! To make things extra fun most of the shops have a gatcha machine up!

So lets talk about what I have up right now... btw I finally turned shadows on... then I tried to take a picture with them... bit dark but I'll keep working on it! This top is called Trixie (seen here in teal) from Ingenue it comes in nine colors but thanks to the gatcha it's a random chance which one you will get! The best part is they are only 25L a try!

Caroline's Jewelery item is the lovely Bursting with Crystals rings which come in five colors which are lovely and Caro's attention to detail are obvious in these. I have on the pink one obviously and they are only 50L a try! I also need to point out my necklace which is part of the celebration for CH1C turning one called the tassel back necklace which comes in Black, Gold, and Silver and you get them all! The tassels are even flexi so watch them move as you do!

Even my pose came from Coffee Break and !bang who has her Hipster set in a gatcha for us all at only 35L each!

Catching up on 3 weeks worth of Truth Hair

I actually took these pictures back on Sunday and edited them up on Monday ... still trying to adjust to having one computer and 4 kids home for the summer! LoL :D Going to try and do 2 posts a day for a bit now as I catch up or die trying!

Let me show you the newest releases by Truth! I am in love with the texturing on the flowers of both of these styles, so well done! First up we have what may become another favorite up-do Kalia. It has straight bangs, and comes with 4 color sets of flowers with 2 attachment spots for each. Seriously look at those flowers! Second is Leilani which is a long wavy style with a bit of a hippie feel to it with the leather sting band tied around. It too comes with those lovely flowers to give it a lovely tropical feel!

Last week's Truth release had two great styles. The up-do is named Lucia which is a fun and sweet curly style tied up in a color change bow. This one has almost vintage feel to it don't you think? It's extremely well done to boot! Curly hair is a bit of a pain to make look great. The second style is an uber long wavy casual do called Teshan. This one comes with different ways of attaching the hair to help make pictures or dancing look great!

Now to get myself totally caught up let me show you the style Truth released 3 weeks ago eeep! First up is Cecilia a charming and simple braid done over the shoulder with some sweet wisps coming out. I wear this style in my first life because I can't for the life of me braid behind my head on my own! Loving the fun that is the second style here as well. This should length curly and bowed up do (color change of course) is called Miku. To make things even better this style comes in two different bang types to boot! Love this idea hope he does more of them!

52 Weeks of Color Challenge: Pink

I sort of went all over the pink spectrum for this... if special note is the Laielle dress from Icing which she released a few weeks ago right before I got so busy! I love the old fashioned detailing on this particular dress... it reminds me of a cameo really... and I love cameos! She also did something new for icing with this release and included a sculpted and a flexi skirt! We are all cheering!

To there and back again....

So I know I left everyone hanging while I've been gone so long... rather like myself in this picture waiting for my prom date to arrive! (Was I stood up? Oh no!) No seriously I had a ton of stuff going on lately between end of school year fun, one of my sons graduating from Elementary (When did they start having these things for that anyhow?), and a nearly 2 week long visit from someone near and dear to me.

Going to try and do some mad dashing to catch up though! Starting with this darling dress I picked up right before things got so crazy here called Junior Prom from Sn@tch. It comes in 6 bright springy colors; and as is always the case with Sn@tch you get them all for one low price! I love the subtle sparkle on the top, and you have a choice of different skirt looks to boot!

Never quite got all of Dark Mouse's spring release finished so here is another set! Aznac is a an intricately done pearl choker set with a lovely flower motive. It comes in three different metal choices like most of her sets... this time I'm showing you the silver! Mouse never stops amazing me with the timeless elegance of her creations!

Also wanted to give you a closer look at my fun Doll Ankle Boots that Lassitude & Ennui released for the shoe fair! These are hud driven like the rest of her recent releases... if you need more info on that just check a few of my back posts! Here and here! These boots come in six different colors if they strike your fancy! Of course with so many choices per shoe they are each a dozen in one.

Last but not least is this cute chair I'm sitting on... I saw Aida Ewing of Glam Affair post it on her plurk for the Zombie Popcorn hunt and I thought it would be fun to use it! Apparently it's part of a new store for them called Tableau Vivant which looks like it will be full of wonderful stuff! This chair has 6 poses and comes in 3 avatar sizes which I love!

I just had a blast!

I just had so much fun tonight! It was all thanks to three people! First let me explain....

Emma from the Sand Shack Surf Co. has released these adorable new avatar creations called Bloom Dolls. They are so much fun! There are 5 basic dolls, one is male, then 4 girls with different skins. Each doll eyes can change into 7 colors, lashes or not, and eyelids can be colored 7 different ways... or be closed!

After that it's all up to you! You can see how very differently we all turned out! (Left to right we have me, Heather Connolly, Shyayn Lusch, Gabby Panacek, CodeBastard Redgrave, Moo Money, Anessa Stein, and the uber creative Thema Felix!)

My clothes (Which is the lime shade of the new Junior Prom Dress from Snatch btw.) Fit with no adjustment but I'm a smallish av, the shoes did as well (Ingenue's Jane Wedge Sandals in chartreuse.). Hair was a bit harder...if you aren't used to playing with prims much be sure to choose a simple style to adjust... expect to drag them HUGE and then lower them for the easiest fit. (Mine was Truth Jacqueline in Cranberry a style I do not recommend for beginners..)

Gabby Panacek and CodeBastard Redgrave started a doll fitting party at their place and well... the rest is history! I went there fully intending to just watch and enjoy... then after awhile I realized I really did want to have one and so I spent the last of lindens lol. My fiance is rolling his eyes at me but oh well! Thank you both so much for inviting me I had a blast!

How much fun are these new Truth releases this week?!? We seriously have polar opposites in hairstyles!

First up a fabulous sweeping up-do named Eden that was created for a plurk buddy of mine for her wedding! Congrats again Ry! The darling flowers are color change of course, or you can make them disappear all together! Hey look Mouse .. a hair style that doesn't cover the ears! (Sorry inside joke there!)

Next Truth gave us a super kicked back, super non formal hair style named Sia that takes being down to the extreme. Casual weekend wear for the win! Sorry this post isn't long either, I do have a bigger one planed for later today though! Big? It might be HUGE! :D

Spring Fling with Dark Mouse

No don't adjust your monitor! I really am wearing a darker skin today! After going to the Skin Fair and not being able to afford the skins I wanted I consoled myself by buying a skin at The Dressing Room by a creator that had interested me for some time. This is Mary in natural by Glam Affair and I rather like it! Hopefully someday I'll catch a version in a paler shade more like my own!

Today I am showing off another new release from Dark Mouse this one is called Spring Fling and look at how much fun she had to have had making it! Mouse claimed to have taken things she loved and put them into one set of jewelery as a great layered look for us to enjoy! Although the picture above doesn't show the bracelets the top one does! Shining in Neutrals

Well I did something rather different for me .... I bought this dress to match my new necklace! I tend to work my outfits the other way around but sometimes exceptions have to be made! Dark Mouse just released several lovely sets that are going to be easy to wear with just about anything! If you want to see the full release at once check HERE. I'm going to take my time however and show you one set at a time. Starting with...

This is the Cream Pearl Flower set which is a dramatic impressionistic combo of necklace, bracelets, and earrings. This look will be easy to dress up or dress down and should match most things due to it's beautiful neutral coloring. This set was chosen first only because the perfect dress for it showed up on the same day Dark Mouse released them... more to come tomorrow!

Now about the dress! Blaze released this new style called Chardonnay yesterday and isn't it marvelous? Blond lace is seriously difficult to pull off in SL and this has been really well done! This particular shading is also called Chardonnay, however there are six other colors to check out as well! Zip on over and check them out!

Today I am showcasing this great skirt by Vanitas Vesture and while it takes a good picture the reason I love this skirt is how it flows when you move! It really has wonderful motion which is important to a girl who likes to go out dancing! If I am remembering correctly this skirt comes in 8 colors and I know for sure that this color was one of the donation shades! So I like shimmery skirts what can I say? ;)

Newness from Icing and Dark Mouse!

Meet Joan the new dress to grace our presence from the wonderful store Icing! After much debate with myself I decided to purchase it in the purple. Each of the six shades are lovely though! I've watched the progress of this dress with great delight as Miko Omegamu posted up pictures for us on Plurk. Apparently she creates while haunting lucky chairs... a fact that made me smile! The work that was put into this dress is amazingly detailed... I mean look at it! I can almost feel the cool whispers of satin on my skin can't you? Also included is the charming matching Leaf & Feather hat... two styles are included.. with the veil or without.

Well if you didn't notice my new jewelery from Dark Mouse before I certainly hope you have now! This is her new Epoque set; which lucky for you is set out this weekend at the Shopping Cart Disco's, Disco Deals Bazaar! However let me give you an insiders tip... the earrings are in Dark Mouse's VIP group as a gift! It only costs 50L to join and she sends us something lovely each month! Lassitude & Ennui @ Culture Shock with a Dash of G Field

Do you remember a few weeks ago when I talked about the great HUD they had come up with at Lassitude & Ennui? If not take a moment to check out my post HERE. There I went on and on about how great they are and how much variety you can receive from one set of items.

Lassitude & Ennui has released several new things at the Culture Shock event and I'm just going to give a small sampling of what they can be like for you!

First up we have the Elegance Top Hats which come in 6 colors! On each hat you are able to change the band into 7 colors, the pearl in the center into 4 colors, and the metal around that pearl into 3 types, there is a fall of lace at the back that can be changed into white or black or none at all. All of this done with great HUDs I've been telling you about! Check out the picture below for 2 ideas.

Check out the necklace I am wearing too! It's actually the same necklace yet it looks so different due to the 2 HUDs that Lassitude & Ennui include with it! The first HUD has options to change the metal bits (Iron, Silver, Gold and Rose Gold), and the pearls (4 different colors). The second HUD helps you change the ribbon color (7 colors) and the lace (white, black or none at all). Such a great piece to match with things!

Now last but never least is my personal favorite of these new Lassitude & Ennui releases! The Ophelia cameo pendant! I love cameo's in my first life and own several, which is why this one appealed to me so much. It comes with the great hud system too! Change the Metal, change the pearls and change the cameo face (6 pendant faces included)! It is even set up for you to add 6 of your own faces to the HUD! Here are just a few examples of this classic mix and match piece.

Quick shout out about my dress! This is the lovely Fiona dress from G Field which comes in several colors. I had a hard time deciding between this and the yellow version myself! The Blue is available only at Culture Shock so be sure to run down and pick it up if that is the shade you are looking for! I can't tell you how well crafted this dress is made the textures are excellent!

The Summer Nights Hunt

I had a chance to be a blogger for a The Summer Nights Hunt, and since I've never done anything like that before I thought it might be fun to give it a try! Their blog has a list of stores and a few hints. Click here for that. It starts at Atooly and at the end of the hunt is a fun little room with even more prizes! Atooly also gives my favorite item ... the darling antlers seen above! Pearls on one side and a sunflower on the other... quirky and fun! The shirt I am wearing is from Static and it is also one of the prizes.

Saturday's Truth Hair Post!

Have to say I am enamored of this new hair style called Jacqueline that was just released by Truth this week! It has a flow to it that makes me think of soft spring breezes for some reason! As you can see this style is slightly windblown to one side and comes in two versions the second being over the eye! I really think this will be my new favorite! I already have some plans for a great shot in it!

Truth spoiled us with more hairstyles too! One named Shannon which is a sweet lower pig tail style over the shoulders, and the other named Shanna which is pretty much the same only a pony tail over a shoulder. The Elastics on both of these color change as well! Great Spring and Summer looks this week! Get yours at Truth!

52 Weeks of Color Challenge: Periwinkle

I'm running a little bit late still but I'm starting to catch up! Week 25 of the color challenge brings us to periwinkle! Periwinkle was a hard week for me which was something I never expected... when suddenly out of the blue I remembered these awesome suits that Pukk Abel from First Impressions made. Pukk dear if you're reading this we miss ya babe hope all is well with you and your family! Yes sadly this suit isn't available which is a shame it makes anyone look smashing! (Ok I confess to a bit to much British influence there lol).

This hair is a new release by Mister Truth and maybe my new favorite! More on that later today though for now just know it's called Jacqueline! Did you see those Nina Shoes that I love by Ingenue? I laughed.. I really did... when I got the periwinkle ones! Hurry and get them at the Gatcha Festival! This necklace is an old favorite of mine from Caroline's called Nicola Cameo Locket!

Gatcha in Citrus!

I needed distracting tonight as the fiance has headed home and I may not see him for another month or two... so I headed on down to the Gatcha Festival in Albero. I had such a blast and spent far to much! If you want a ride to this click here! I somehow ended up with a citrus themed outfit by random luck and decided to share it with you all!

My favorite item at the festival is the Nina Flats by Ingenue they are to die for! I seriously want them all! Heck I even want these all in my first life! Seen here in the meadow color expect to see them often in my posts! Betty you are evil but I love ya! BTW I have an extra pair of these in Chiffon if anyone wants to trade for a color I don't have or buy them off me so I can try again!

I know it's hard to see but I wanted to give a quick shout out about my ring... this is Flower Power in Garnet by Caroline's. It has that superb work we've all come to expect from her and a touch of whimsy to boot ... and of course you can get your own at the Gatcha Festival!

This cute little top is by Rude Rebel and is called Spring Cami and it has been a big hit I think... having seen them all over the feeds! This color is orange, it's fun and flirty and fit right in my theme and of course you can get it at the Gatcha Festival!

Now I think these shorts are adorable! Cool Beans made these Chatty Kathy Shorts and go with my citrus theme.. here they are in yellow! Darling things simple and basic ... will be easy to mix and match! Yes; yes; they are at the Gatcha Festival too!

Last but never least is my pose! Yes there are poses there too in this case Toongirl ones from STaTUS! You can always count on a pose from STaTUS to be fresh and to have that extra bit of zing! (Ha! Tied it into my citrus theme!)

Of course I got more... much more and I want more from the Gatcha Festival! Helloooo shoes! I might do another post who can say? :D

Race to Perse for the Ascots!

I know I've been mostly missing in action but I've had all sorts of real life crazy to deal with.. broken pipes and an inept landlord, doctor apts, lab work, and the rescue of my fiance with an unexpected vist which counted as a win week for me! :D

What this really boils down to though is that I'm late posting up these new Ascot boots by Perse! Aph has really put some serious thought and work into these very traditionally styled boots! Ascot boots come in a plethora (Ok I admit I just felt like using a big word!) of traditional colors ... blacks... browns... greys. Truth Hair Post on Monday!

I know! I know! I usually have my Truth Hair posts up by Saturday but I've been dealing with some broken pipes and life has been insane! Good news is my fiance has driven down to help me out with all the insanity I have coming up this week, the bad news is I may not be posting a lot the next few days!

On to the hair! My Favorite this week is Phoebie a nice mid length wavy hair do that is parted to side and held back by a color changeable clip. Don't you wish we had color changeable clips in our first life? Lets invent one, think of all the money we will make!

Next up we have another hairstyle that I often sport in my first life called Karen. Long and wavy pulled back with some hair falling forward. Another one of those simple and basic hairstyle that any SL gal needs to keep in her closet so that she can throw it on and go!

I actually put this hairstyle on my little girl all the time! Hazel has two braids coming down from the temples and tied to the back. Laughing right now one of my sons came in and said hey that looks like Emmie's hair! Truth has done an excellent job as always this week! Hopefully I'll be back on Saterday with more lol!

To Write Love On Her Arms

Right now even as I type this there is another charity event opening in Second Life... One that has a long acronym for it's name. The TWLOHA or The To Write Love On Her Arms is a First Life non-profit movement dedicated to presenting hope and finding help for people struggling with depression, addiction, self-injury and suicide. It's not often that I wax eloquent here on my blog but I hope you will bear with me as I tell you about these issues that are near and dear to my heart.

First I want to share with you some horrifying numbers...

1. Every single person... it doesn't matter who you are...will in some way be effected by depression in their lifetime. If it is not yourself then it is someone you know and care about. (See Link Here for more info)

2. 19.5 million people over the age of 12 used illegal drugs in the United States, 19,000 deaths occurred from Drug Addiction in the US and 9,102 persons died of drug-induced causes in 1999. ( I got this info from this site )

3. Number of suicidal deaths in 2007: 34,598 Deaths per 100,000 population: 11.47 Suicide was the 11th leading cause of death in the United States.(Info here)

4. Broad estimates are that about one percent of the total U.S. population, or between 2 and 3 million people, exhibit some type of self-abusive behavior. That number includes those with eating disorders like anorexia, as well as those who self injure. (Check this site here)

Such a very large group of numbers isn't it? It's frighting and scary to think about but each and everyone of us know someone who needs help or has needed help at some point in their life. What can we do? We can be there! Be there for them in a non judgmental, non superior attitude way, help them help themselves... find places they can go to get the help they need... arrange to get them there if they need it.

Don't just stand by and let them self destruct around you.

P.S. The TWLOHA site is HERE wonderful site great info. They help people who are not able to afford the help they need. It could even be someone near and dear to you... and if not you then to someone.

Now for some good numbers... 100% of the proceeds from EVERY item at the SL TWLOHA event will go to the TWOLHA movement. They will be providing updates on the amounts received on plurk and photo's of the paypal transactions. Everything is being done as transparently as possible. So take your ride HERE look at what is there... hopefully buy.

The dress I am wearing is named Scars in Platinum made by .Magoa. and it will be sold at the event in several colors. When I saw the name my heart leapt to my throat. You see I bear scars... in my heart... in my soul... and even on my body from my battles with depression. A condition that was made worse by emotionally abusive people in my life. Once you have battled depression you will always have to fight to keep it at bay but these scars have made me stronger and may our donations help make someone else stronger.

My pose is part of a set being sold by Baffle! that is called Dancing Petal. I'm sure you can see why the name caught my attention. Hopefully our donations will allow someone else to dance free like a petal in the wind... like me.

Turn a page with Paige!

Remember how I talked about the three main skin makers whose products I use? Well here is another one! Meet Paige from Adam n Eve! I told Sachi that she has turned into a skin machine lately because she is really cranking them out! In my humble opinion each one is better then the last!

Paige comes in 4 tones I'm showing the natural. I spent a bit staring at my pictures trying to figure out what was different... I finally figured out that this is likely a shade darker then I tend to wear but she does have a shade lighter called pale! The body shading is fantastic! In the words of Sachi look at that butt!

It's amazing what comes in each pack! Four base skins... 6 lipstick options, 4 eyeshadows, freckles, extra blush, nail polish in several variants on how to wear them, 4 brow and/or pubic colors in several options, the list goes on and on... 45 options in all! In the pictures below I have the regular face first followed by just a few of the options! Zip over to Adam n Eve for a demo.. give them a chance if you haven't been there for awhile!

52 Weeks of Color Challenge: Eggplant

I am so far behind this week! Picture me running in with my submission about 5 minutes before being late and you will pretty much have a view of my entire week! This is the 24th Week of the Color Challenge and we have Eggplant! This garden I found in SL is great isn't it? Oh hai there giant octopus! I opened the search bar... entered purple and found this place! The fun of exploring SL! Want to learn more about the challenge? Click here!

Do you see the lovely new dress I have on? I certainly hope so! Elymode rebuilt their main store on the Journey sim and set out new colors of their scooped corset and long simple skirt. I "scooped" up the dark purple to use for this post. I wish I had chosen a lighter color to make it easier to show the excellent shading.. apparently Elysium reworked them both, added more colors (10 total) and so they have the added tag of Take 2! I combined them and came up with the look you see here.... just like everyone else! Don't let my bad photography scare you away! Just check out the back of the corset, I love the flow of the flexy in the skirt and the silhouette is so classy.

Moody Monday and Spring Hunt Goodies!

I had a sick kiddo home today so I didn't get this post out as soon as I had hoped to do so... So am making this one short and sweet! See my jewelry set? This is Dark Mouse's contribution to the Moody Monday this week called Steeplechase Pearls. A lovely pearl necklace in a silver setting that for just a few hours more will be only 55L! After she takes it down the price will go back up when she decides to set out the full release with gold and copper! Sorry again for not getting this out sooner!

I have the awesome Spring Alive photo prop from Long Awkward Pose (LAP) that is part of the Seasons Hunt going on right now! In the picture above I paired it up with a pose that caught my fancy while I was in the store just to show that it can be used without the great poses it came with! (See below for one of those!) She also included vines that wrap around you and the poses themselves to be used however you wish! What a great gift thank you Dove!

The cute top I have on is from Glow and is also part of the Seasons Hunt! (Do you need more info on this hunt? Click here) This darling frock named Spring Dress is so much fun! Spring has Sprung!

So many exciting things going on right now in the grid! Today I am going to be sharing some of the newest releases from Ingenue and Olive Juice Poses with you! Do you remember back when LoLo started their coffee break event and I showed you these darling Mitzi shorts and Wanda halter tops? Well Betty at Ingenue has released them in more colors bringing the total up to 10!

I have been wearing these all over the grid because they just look smashing on me! The cut and style I think would flatter just about any shape out there! Well done Ingenue! Above I am wearing the Cutie shade... farther down you will see Buttercup. (Where was Buttercup during Banana Mania week?)

A couple days ago I told you about Luna Jubilee's Blog 4th Birthday Event? Well the skirt above is Ingenue's Mistinguett in Blush and it's part of that event! It comes is four luscious shades and for now can only be found here! I've paired it with the Spring Forward Tank in Berry which can now be found in her store! I realize that you can't see the front of the skirt in this picture but I liked this shot so much that I kept it! Scroll on down for a better view!

Truth Hair Releases for the Week!

This is just a quickie post ... I promise I'll try to do a longer one I have planned later tonight! Time for the weekly Saturday post about the latest Truth Hair release!

My favorite of the week is Denise. This is a long wavy hair style that flows smoothly down the shoulder on one side and tucked behind the ear in the other! I know many designers that excel at the straight and oh so smooth styles but it's harder to find a good curly and/or wavy look! Truth does them both oh so well though!

Meet Truth 's other release Pia here. I think I should have tried taking this one with a lighter color of hair, oh well live and learn... hopefully you can see that it's a quirky little number with the hair tied up on one side and sweet tendrils coming down all around.

A Pearl of a Release from Tuli

It's a not a big secret that I have 3 main skin designers that I use and love:one I use for ethnic looks, one for vintage looks. but for the day to day ... most everyday my heart belongs to Tuli. So I can't tell you how pleased I was when she released the first new skin since I've come back named Sara!

Let me tell you a bit about Sara...it comes in the usual 6 tones you've come to expect and enjoy from Tuli skins but this time there are an extra four skins that have more of a pinkness to them... and I bought the one named Pearl! The package that you get with this skin is HUGE it really is! The skin has 6 basic make ups, 12 different lipstick tattoos to mix and match with them, 2 cleavage options (larger or smaller) that can be tattoos or clothing layers, a freckles tattoo, 3 different lash tattoos, 3 different eyebrow option tattoos in case you want a different shade, 3 eyebrow shapes, and the body shape that Tuli uses in the pictures! Whew that list wore me out just typing it all! Did I mention that this is a huge pack?

I'm loving it and have been bouncing about in happy mode every time I even think of it. Now Sara is pretty highlighted and if that sort of thing bugs you then you have been forewarned... it's my personal opinion though that these will make for great shots over sunshiny days of spring and summer ahead! I'm going to take a moment to show you all the make ups and half of the lip choices... enjoy!

Spring Butterflies with Olive Juice and Ange

Some days everything just falls together you know? I actually had planned on doing this outfit called Spring Tank from Ange ever since I first saw it Sunday. I tucked it away in the back of my mind with the idea that I would use it with Olive Juice's Butterflies in the Sky prop and even where I would shoot the picture. I walked there I took this one shot and I knew I was done! These are the days I love blogging!

Today however was my son's birthday and so when I came back what do I see but this outfit all over the feeds... well why not? It's sweet and darling and just made me smile when I saw it! The flower border matches the blue and green color scheme in a charming simplistic way. I did have to fiddle with the color of the top a bit to make it match the prim better... but it wasn't hard work. Ange is a new store to me and seems really reasonably priced I think I shall have to check it out!

I want to make a special note about the Butterflies in the Sky prop I used from Olive Juice since we have all seen it several times I decided to use the them with another one of their poses called Kawaii 2 that came from the Kawaii hunt a bit ago. The fact that you can use other poses with the butterflies make them even more versatile!

Quick word about the shoes too! Did you notice them? These darling little flats are from the Cutieh Cupcake line that Atooly just put out! I had actually meant to get the pink ones but these peach ones have grown on me! They also seemed to be made to go with this outfit so a win for everyone!

*Rose's favorite season happens to be spring and for the second year in a row .... Mother Nature seems to be skipping it! What's up with the snow she just got?!? As always feel free to leave a comment/IM/Plurk and tell her if you think Mother Nature is just picking on us this year!*

Perse's Kharen and Moody Mondays

I once saw palm trees...

I once saw palm trees... it was a couple years ago and every time I saw one I smiled inside at the friendly sight. I never got the chance to get close to them... and every suggestion of mine that might have let that happen was ignored. I was told what I wanted by someone it turned out didn't know me well enough to know... and didn't really want try. Someday though I'm going back... and I'm going to wrap my arms around a palm tree... and not be afraid of what anyone else may think.

Isn't it funny how things can be brought into your mind? While I was shooting this shot above I just kept smiling at the palm trees and of course by how lovely this dress I had on was!

Perse released a new dress yesterday called Kharen and I really like them... they are simple and still rather dressy. There is this amazing sheen to them and you can almost see them shine back at you. Easy to wear.. classic... and very well done.

You will no doubt see this dress all over the feeds today because Perse has included the peach sherbet color in the new Moody Mondays ... a wonderful deal at 55L. However I wanted people to take a moment to admire all of the colors. There are seven total and I'm only showing you four of them...they come on every layer that you can use as well. I think the jacket layer could be used as a tank myself.

I've watched the development of Moody Mondays on Plurk with a smile. Many of the designers are friends of mine... and it's made me almost want to start creating again... time will tell. :) Check out their website for more info and pictures on all the other good deals here!

The Posy Truth

No fancy pictures today, just some good ole fashioned check out these new releases pictures! Today is Saturday which often means I'm showing off some new Truth hair! Something that always makes me smile. Today I've coupled them with two of the skins from Adam n Eve's new line called Posy which I have to say I adore. There are 12 makeups total for this line and the ones I'm showing you are so fresh and springy feeling!

First up we have Alison a lovely new up-do by Truth paired with Posy (in the pale shade of course) with the Curry make up by Adam n Eve!

I do really like how I look in this make up... I used the blond brow tattoo which I think turned out rather well oddly enough. :) I love this shade on the lips vibrant with out being too in your face with a nice neutral eye shade to go with it. The whole Posy line has a smattering of sweet freckles... not to many and not over the top.

This hair style made me smile... I have this sort of hair myself you pull it back and it just wants to curl it's way out... which is what looks like happened here! :) Nice and relaxed perfect for the lazy summer days ahead... if it ever gets here! *glares at the snow falling outside*

Next we have Mylie a cute and wavy SUPER LONG hair style by Truth paired with Posy (in the pale shade of course) with the Kitty make up by Adam n Eve!

I really love the shade of lips on this makeup style it is so realistic and laid back. This is a girl about town look. Oh before I forget I am wearing the "bewbs" skins ... why? Because if I can't have cleavage in my first life I'm darn well going to have it the second!

Mylie comes with more then one way to attach it which is wonderful ... makes it so much easier to get the right look no matter what you are doing! Always hate being stuck in some pose or dance and the hair just looks odd... I know you know what I am talking about!

Couple more things to mention here.... Did you notice my tank top? Yep I thought I saw you noticing it! This is the Avery Cami in Copper by Moonshine! It's a newer release and Shelly has a whole fat pack of them out for only 250L! (6 colors on all 3 layers)

I confess I don't think the necklace is a new release but it's new to me! I stopped by Undefined Lilies yesterday and fell in love with this yard sale stroll necklace (floral04)! The matching earrings and ring are also available but I'm poor right now so you just get to see the one! LOL :) Least I can laugh about it. She also has a couple of darling freebies out you should go check the little place out so much fun! Here is a close up for you!

Spring in the City

The calendar tells me it's spring... somewhere.. certainly not here where we have had snow in the past week! This is the second year of this... Spring is my favorite season and I'm really starting to miss it.

The Pose Fair continues and today all my poses come from Glitterati and we ALL owe Katey a huge thank you for all the hard work she has put in organizing it and getting it all together for us to enjoy! Once you are done shopping at the fair head over to her store where she has put some packs on sale as well... I know I did! Catch your ride to the fair here.

Today's fun outfit comes from Adam n Eve and is called Cora ... this snazzy little number comes in so many options! White or black shirt, black or white prims, short skirt, long and flowy skirt, pants... this is mix and match heaven! I love the simplicity of it without being boring the ruffles and the sleeves add just the right touch of class.

Rather then do the traditional black and white styling I went with pink! The Earrings are from Caroline's and are part of the Coffee Break event! You get all 9 colors of the Cabochon Chandelier Earrings for only 75L! Well at least until the 15th. Catch your ride here.

52 Weeks of Color Challenge: Banana Mania

It's week 22 of Luna's color challenge and what a color it is too! Banana Mania?!? Ack! I don't wear a lot of yellow in my first life ... being one of those sad souls that have a yellow undertone to my skin I wind up looking yellow all over. The funny part is I really do love yellows such a happy sunshine color!

Banana's make me think of tropical locations and a deep deep wish in my life to visit some place with a white beach and water that is the certain color of aquamarine. Do you know the one that I mean? So I went out hunting and found this interesting location although I wish they had gotten the beach part in!

Now you may ask why I chose to wear this particular dress. I saw another blogger mention banana baby food which oddly enough turns out to be about this color when it's homemade! Guess we could say I added strawberries to the mix!

In all seriousness though this lovely little dress from Vanitas Vesture and is called Obsessive Dress ... one wonders how that name came about? This particular pattern is called Spring Blush another one with a blue base is out there too and yay it is part of the Relay for Life event called Glance Front Row! Zip on over to Vanitas Vesture and pick one up!

Quick shout out about my jewelry set called Pearls Forever... the necklace is this months group gift from Dark Mouse and even though you can't see it there is the most darling bow in the back ... hurry there is still time to get it! Being a fae is near and dear to my heart, I had so much fun taking this picture today! Really am very proud of this one!

The one on the left is called Kaelyn it's sweet and fun you can feel the spring breeze every time you look at it. The other is called Mariposa a curly half up do that is accentuated with butterflies and I adore it! :D You knew I would ... I'm so predicable. ;)

Coffee Break with exposeur!

I'm sure by now most of you who are into the fashion part of SL have heard that the pose fair is open! If you are needing a ride to there ... click here! I should warn you that it was full with in minutes of opening ... so if you get in: be nice wear low lag stuff, and play nice with others!

Today I am showcasing {.:exposeur:.} poses... everyone knows that RubyStarlight's couple poses are SMOKING OMG HOT, but for a change of pace I'm going to show you some of the single poses I found at the fair! It's safe to say {.:exposeur:.} is all about the sexy! When your out and about at the fair be sure to stop by and check the poses out!

Also seen in my pictures are some fun little sunglasses prop made by the ever so talented Caroline! These too can be bought at the pose fair, and come in 3 different looks which each look having 4 different attachment points and a pose to match them if you need one! Today though I just used the Leopard Sunglasses as props because they matched the theme so well. Look closely and you can see them! You know you want them! Get them at the pose fair!

"Theme?" You ask? Haven't you heard that a brand new event opened today too? The Gals of LoLo are at it again ... this time they have build a darling little cafe (Seen above) and every other month they are going to hold an event there called Coffee Break! Items in the cafe this month range from 35L-100L, currently I'm wearing Ingenue's items that are up (the darling outfit that lends it's curvy look so well with exposeur poses) 75L for each piece and the Cabochon Chandelier Earrings from Caroline's that are 75L( you get all nine colors!).

There are more great items to be had there and it will be going on the 1st-15th of every other month starting in April. This months special guest is Grixdale! Run by and check it out while waiting to get into the pose fair! Take your taxi here!

Lassitude & Ennui is never boring!

I've always (and I've been shopping with them for about 5 years now) been rather amused at Lassitude & Ennui's name because you see I know what the word Ennui means! Do you? Definition of ennui : a feeling of weariness and dissatisfaction : boredom

I have to say that the stuff Lassitude & Ennui are releasing coinciding with the Fantasy Fair (Which starts Saturday!) is anything BUT boring!

Take the top picture... that is ONE necklace! Just one necklace... I never took it off but this fun necklace named Ophelia Roses & Pearls Choker comes with two different huds that allows you to change it in so many ways! The first hud has options to change the metal bits (Iron, Silver, Gold and Rose Gold), the pearls (four different colors), and the roses (eight colors there). The second hud helps you change the ribbon color (seven colors) and the lace (white, black or none at all). When you put them all together the possible combinations seem almost endless! So much fun and so many great looks!

The other necklace being released is Ophelia Pearls Pendant it's very lovely and oh so classy and uses the first hud too! Here you can change the metals and the pearls for many many combos. I put a few up just to give you some ideas!

Now lets talk about the wonderful shoes coming out! Above are the amazing Flora Boots which come in seven differnt colors AND they have one of those fun huds to play with! This hud will let you choose from different metals, pearl buttons, lace, with the addition of allowing you to choose which brocade is in the center (seven colors). I had a good time checking out the options as you can see in the above picture!

Below we also have three of the eight colors that the new Celtic boots come in. I have to say that I love the Celtic knot like work that is done going up the sides! These have no hud but are great boots all the same! Last but not least are these uber fantasy themed Mojari slippers! Here I am showing the two colors that will be for Relay for Life... but it also comes in six other colors! I personally suggest you check out the natural one.

Actually I think you should just make sure you check out Lassitude & Ennui's booth at the fantasy fair this weekend!

Starting Pose Fair with a !Bang

The Pose Fair starts tomorrow and there is so much stuff to see and look at there! Not just amazing poses but fantastic huds and props as well! Mark it on your calendar and get your low lag look ready to go!

Here is a preview of some of the wonderful pose sets that will be offered at the fair by !Bang, each set of course has more poses so stop by and check them all out! The first picture is using one from her "On the Ground" set. Good ground level poses are hard to find and this group of poses is extremely well done!

A quick shout out about the dress in the first shot.. it's Zoe (in sky) from Felicia's Fashions, you never know when she will come out with some little treasure and this is one! Fun and flirty it made me smile when I put it on and I wanted to be sure you noticed it.

52 Weeks of Color Challenge: White

I've been spending a great deal of time since I've come back to Second Life thinking about the past and some of the life changing things that have happened to me here. So I guess it isn't a surprised that I reached deep into my virtual clothes closet and pulled out a dress I've had for a very long time now when I heard about this weeks color.

To be totally honest this wasn't the first dress I put on by the late great Ginny of Last Call, sadly though that dress contained prims that were no modify and shaded grey... does anyone else remember when we used to have to shade the prims grey to match the clothing textures? I've managed to to retint the clothes and the dress will live on only now as a grey dress.

Sort of like me isn't it? I've changed and adjusted to the things my second life has thrown at me the good, the bad and the heart breaking. Haven't we all? I'm sure we will continue to do so! I'll leave you with this great quote I found....

Tonight I am just doing a quick look of the day type post. I seem to be running on empty and plan to go to bed early! I tried to be creative on where I took a picture but in the end gave up and shot it outside my own front door! Even my AV looks tired!

I had planned on doing some great content post I really did! I'll just sum it up though.

I've been back to posting for just a week now and I wanted to say thank you too all my friends, peers, and creative forces who have made me feel both missed and welcomed back at the same time. For those of you who have encouraged me to just be myself and have fun.... Thank you! Thank you so much!

Yay I'm Back on the list. (Truth Hair Release March 25)

Earlier this week I spotted a blog post (I wish I marked it so I could refer back to it. Bad Rose!) about how lucky a blogger felt to be on Truth's Hair Blogger list; I sat there and agreed... Girl you are so lucky! Then later Truth dropped his latest release on me too! I hadn't asked, I hadn't expected to be put back on the list but I am so very glad to be able to flaunt the latest Truth hair with you all!

Left to Right:

First up we have Sarita a fun Boho style long and straight with one side tied around to the side and down into a partial braid. This is one of those great styles where Truth Hawks has given you some option of wearing it in one piece or in two. The two piece options make it so much easier to get good shots in certain poses... and dancing... and walking around ... :D

In the middle is a style called Mark ... which I guess means it was meant for guys but I looked so pert and flirty in it that I decided to show you all how good it looks on me! Poor guys few are the things they have that we can't wear better! ;)

Last up we have Carina another fun pony straight with side swept bangs a simple style that is easy to just toss on when your headed out shopping or exploring... whatever! I have several of those ... "Hey I'm in a hurry" go to styles in my inventory don't you?

The skin we live in...

Another Fundraiser is back... if you don't know much about it click.... here! I actually put a skin up in the very first one several years back but I haven't really created anything for years. So imagine my joy/dismay/fear when Sasy suddenly gave me a group invite and started dropping cards on me. (P.S. Have to love how that girl gets things DONE sometimes!) I'm really very glad she did though in-spite my trepidations because I am RL and SL poor and had already given all I could... in fact I had to borrow some lindens to pay for the upload fees. This gives me a chance to help them even more. My heart goes out to those that are still struggling and there are so very many.

I spent a few days thinking about the skins.. what I could do.. what I'd like to do. Then I started thinking about the first Another Fundraiser and which skins were big big hits back then. To put it in a nut shell it was the wacky ones. Now I thought about it some more and knew I could put out pretty skins by the dozen but I wanted to do something .... different...

Yay Spring is here... it's my favorite time of year! I just can't help myself.. all those flowers and the warm weather with still cool breezes. Mmmmmm! Have to say that 2010 seemed to skip right over it so here is hoping for better luck this round! What better way to celebrate the first day of spring 2011 then by wearing this new shirt from Ingenue aptly named "Spring Forward"? These well constructed button up tanks come in 10 amazing and oh so springy colors the one being seen here is Sky. Best part is they are only 90L each!

I'm currently loving this style because it looks almost exactly like my hair in my offline world since I chopped off about 8 inches last month when I was in a bad mood! It's natural flirty and free spirited!

I'm Back!

Yes indeed the rumors are true and this Rose is back in town! (What you mean there weren't any rumors? Darn it! *sigh* ). I don't really want to go into the details to much of why I was gone... sometimes though my RL can overwhelm me. I want to thank everyone who sent me review items and weren't thanked because I wasn't here. I really do appreciate that you trusted me to check out your items.. even if it didn't seem like it at the time. I'm going through them now and hope to incorporate them into my posts.

I of course went on a shopping spree as soon as I could climb out from all the IMs I got just signing in... where did I go? To the Charity events of course!

I started out with the Fashion for Life Fair and I just want to give a quick shout out to the people who built those sims! Did you take a moment to look at those wonderful art deco buildings and decor? I was thoroughly impressed! In fact the picture above was taken there! Before anyone freaks I promise up & down there were only 3 people in the sim at the time.

I wandered around the fair not once but twice looking at just the donation items for now and I found my thoughts returning to this little number above from MALT called FFL MEI. It really called out to me... the ruffles... the shape of the skirt... this is a piece that is just timeless and money well spent even if it wasn't for charity! It also comes with a few extra pieces so that you can wear the top or skirt separately! Great thinking ahead!

Next up I hit the Pacific Crisis Fundraiser where I found these simple, sweet, and charming Sakura Doujou earrings from CoLLisions! I Confess that I have a soft spot in my heart for cherry blossoms and they seem to represent the older traditions of Japan for me. Which leads me to these darling flats from She's So Unusual Shoes how could anyone not smile while wearing these? 100% of the proceeds from both of these items are going into the fund!

On a side note if you are shopped out of items from PCF but still want to donate more may I encourage you to head to Dark Mouse? Mouse Mimistrobell plans to double the lindens that are put into the kiosk at her main store, now THAT is a way to put your lindens to work for a good cause!

Ok I know this post is long enough but I want to add one more thing: my hair from Truth is Paige in Cherry and is one of those items that were sent to me while I was gone. I knew I had to include it in this outfit because of the bow! It seemed tailor made to match this dress! Thank you again Mister Truth and I'm sorry I let you down.

Ivalde's Alvilda 1920's "IT" Girl

Here I am stepping off the train in old Hollywood destined to become the next "IT Girl" and how could I not be in this smashing new dress from Ivalde? "IT" Girl was a phrase that was first coined back in the 1920s the era these dresses were inspired from by English romance novelist and screenwriter Elinor Glyn. The "IT" Girl she said was "Self-confidence and indifference whether you are pleasing or not—and something in you that gives the impression that you are not at all cold. That's "IT".

Well this set of dresses named Alvilda have "IT!" don't you think? The sculpted skirts on these are constructed in a way to still give movement as you walk and have such a realistic flow to them. The color choices are fun and period correct as well with White with Navy dots, Navy with White Dots, and of course Black and White!

Take your jalopy over to Ivalde and get dolled up because this dress is the Bee's Knees!

I know that this isn't my normal shooting style for hair styles but I wanted a chance to show off these fun wall decals that were shown to me a couple days ago. So I know you and I both have seen the wonderful new Angelique Lingerie release from Ingenue all over the feeds lately; and I know that I've done a ton of lingerie shots lately... so for a change I decided to mix things up a little! Unless you have been in hiding or just don't follow fashion you have heard that Tuli Asturias is releasing her newest skin in just two days when she reopens her sim Journey with a few other well known names. Eva is a really lovely skin with such attention to small details be sure to give it try as soon as you can! I know you have seen it all over ... and for good reason! I just wanted to give people a chance to see it on a different face.... and be as thrilled as I am that it is coming out!

Ok sort of a silly blog title I know... but was best I was coming up with today! Although in this situation it could be seen as applicable. The first thing most people think of when it comes to Truth designs is hair... but here he is releasing clothing ... again!

The releases from Truth this week can certainly be viewed as staple pieces.... such as the two toned halter tank tops in eight color choices! You can check it out in the green above and a bit in the pink in the pictures below.

My favorite though is the LA Suede pants... check out the awesome detailing... I love the zippers! They remind me of when I was young and our peg leg jeans were so snug we had zippers in the back just so we could get our feet through them! Anyone else remember those? Oy I feel old now. Anyhow back on topic! These jeans come three colors... including dusk seen above!

Of course it would not be a Truth release with out some fun hair in the mix... this week has two styles for the ladies the first here being my favorite of the week called Emerald. This is a sweet over the shoulder pony with long bangs swept to both sides of the face. Something nice and simple and oh so springish!

Truth Hawks continues his trend towards fuller hair styles with this new one called Sydney which is a long wavy style held back with a headband that has an easy color change menu. There is a bit of a twist to this one though much less of the headband is in sight then normal due to the volume of hair around it. Fun little change of pace for us all!

Spring Collection at Ivalde & L ' Able, and Dark Mouse

L ' Able has released their spring collection along with a new website to make checking out their amazing clothes even more fun! Check out the site here! This years release includes some amazing separates, and I had some fun mixing and matching some of them!

In the first outfit I took the lovely and very well done top from the -L`Abel- Lianna grey set (Which btw includes a matching skirt) and paired it with the -L`Abel- Tanja black skirt that is amazingly detailed with a lovely lace flare along one side. I haven't really taken this off since I put it on, such a classic outfit makes me think of someone who is knows she is beautiful and doesn't feel the need to flaunt as her confidence radiates from her.

Fun and flirty describes the pieces in the second outfit put together from -L`Abel- Mari blue cardigan and the Mandy grey striped tights. I know you can't see it very well from the outfit but this great swing style cardigan is closed at the top with a lovely clasp made of roses that and the little bit of pop that you expect to see in outfits from Ivalde. The tights have a little bit of sparkle to them that make you shine!

Be a dish with Whippet & Buck

Whippet & Buck recently released some new lingerie which I found to have old fashioned charm to it and once upon a time long ago an alluring beautiful woman was referred to a "dish". I did try to find some info on how that term came about but alas I came up empty, but I thought it would be fun to turn myself into a dish while I dished about these lovely items. Ok ok enough of the dish references. :D

From Left to Right we have the Claire, Agnes, and Effie sets. Please make sure you click on the picture so that you can get a good close up view of the excellent detailing on these! Each of these lovely sets come in three colors that include several layering options. Agnes is my personal favorite of the three mostly because it comes in 2 very authentic antique colors as well as the bonus of having a waist cincher included!

Did you notice the darling necklaces? Also a new release from Whippet & Buck and comes in 6 different colors of ribbons! Love the sweet ribbons such a simple idea to add so much fun to a classic.
